    Barts n Dalls
This weekend has been a whirlwind of activities for me and I seriously need to sleep early to gear up for tiring mondays with PE and Dance. Furthermore, there's bio practical make-up 2mr >< We had OG BBQ on friday night and boy it was really fun in the end. We spent nearly 3 hours starting the fire that never started until 8pm. goodness gracious. ended up microwaving the sausages and otah in my house. the food was really gd, esp. the wings from BBQwholesalecentre! Found out kok seng's classmate lived in The Tessarina too! He went to kope a guitar from him and started singing and playing. Most of us - Val/ Cai/ Elysia sat around to chat and it was not till bout 8.30 that we started eating cos val, elysia and I went all the way to BTP to buy more firestarters. It was hmmm quite a successful bbq afterall -- thanks to yiyan and jasmine who organized the stuff too =]
Then woke up even earlier than normal sch day on sat to go for fac CIP. Our stall was the only games stall and many hc boys ended up throwing the darts and balls for fun. We had a deficit of approx. $50, but I thought we did reasonably well, given the fact that there were really few pple...One guy walked away with the cute tigger. but we still managed to play with the eeyore =] after the CIP we walked over to Mr. Prata and trix and I shared a french and ice cream prata =] That made my day!
Went for piano concert rehearsal after church choir prac. I was so dead tired I felt like sleeping while playing my piece so it ended up really screwed i repeated like 6 bars and that was a hair-raising experience. My hands were shaking during the first movement of the duet with Shihui too after we screwed up the first 2 bars. OK there's still one week to practise hard. All the students were really pro...esp. Lucy's lil bro!! He's like a prodigy =]
Today was a long day as well...Today was a special Sacred Music Servie at church, so the choir sang many hymns, and I personally thought we did really well for 'A Living Sacrifice'. I really love the song.

What shall I bring to the Lord
    What shall I offer him?
Shall I come to him now with burnt offerings,
    In Atonement for my sin.
Shall I bring my treasures to lay at his feet,
Shall I offer them up in the flame.
What sacrifice will please the Lord
And bring glory to his name.

He has shown you, oh man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you.
But to act justly, to love, mercy and to walk humbly,
    Walk humbly with your God.

    la Francophonie
Today's french lesson was extraordinary. We arrived, Jie Ying, Caleb, Wencen, Trixie and I, at MOELC to expect the worst during our french lessons as we were supposed to get back the controle paper. However, it was Francophonie Day -- Journee Internationale de la Francophonie, a day where everyone speaking french gets together to celebrate. So there were booths set up to introduce the culture of french-speaking countries such as Belgium, Switzerland, Vietnam, etc. and the Egyptian and Belgium booths had plenty of food awaiting us =]
But guess what, getting free food came with a price to pay. Mlle Fournier pushed us into a class of students from Lycee Francais du Singapour to guide them around MOELC. We were really unprepared, I mean we were not told abt this beforehand, I immediately got butterflies in my stomach >< However it turned out really fun and quite interactive because the students were really responsive. We listened to them read and sing and recommend great movies and afterwards we were separated into groups to visit the booths, go for the mini karaoke session in the comp. lab and play a wordgame in another classrm. Caleb and Jieying were in one group, Wencen and trixie in another, and I, alone :( So I started talking to some of the girls, and they were really friendly :) though I was rather broken in my speech and had quite a hard time understanding them fully. I found myself saying Je suis desolee or OK, d'accord most of the time as a result!
In the end, all of us proceeded to the auditorium to listen to a band from Lycee Francais, the performance was really different, it was an acoustic band, so no electric guitar wadsoeva. They sung well too, and the songs sounded like plain white tees, those really sweet, more acoustic pop :) which I liked, plus it was entertaining. After that we listened to a speech by the ambassador of France in Singapore. It ended at 6+ though and I'm really worn out.

Having long breaks in school doesn't mean more time to do work afterall, it just means more slacking and a stronger desire to sleep during lectures after having slacked so much during e break...I found myself dozing off during bio lecture, and today's bio lecture was super hard and complicated...

Yay 2mr's a holiday! And guess what we're still discussing whether we're gonna have a CT outing the nxt day at 10.15 PM haha.

    A long arduous journey
Yesterday was a sad rainy saturday. And it rained just as I was about to leave home for piano lesson. =( I took the fact that I can board almost every bus from home to hc bus stop for granted....so somehow I boarded 970 thinking it was 852 and freaked out when it turned to 6th ave.! So poor me had to walk to the sixth ave bus stop while it was raining heavily...sighs. how dumb can I get.
And then while I was walking along the path surrounding hc i realised it disappeared halfway! I had to pause for a while to think if that path existed before I continued walking on the path along the road.

    Mess Display
Yesterday marked the end of a 3-day combined schools AYG prac. I've never been in a mass display before, so it was really an eye-opening experience! Dancing together with approx. 200 pple is formidable cos we can feel the energy bursting, especially with the props and formation. So the 3 days were planned for the formations and adding the guys part into the dance, and it turned out really stunning when we watched the video :) It's really no easy feat to choreography a mass display, Mr Dan is really capable! He was really humourous too, calling diff. groups sharks fin/ crayfish/ duck rice/ chicken rice haha. And cracking lame jokes from time to time....and justifying some formations with the phrase "Mess Display". haha. Guess it really did help to liven up the atmosphere!

The lunches were unexpectedly good too, although I was still hungry after wolfing down the entire meal. And on the 3rd day Mr Dan decided to reward everyone by treating all of us to bubble tea =D 200++ bubble teas! Woots! Thank you Mr Dan!

I find that I'm getting lazier to blog day by day, hope I'll still persevere when school reopens. I'm actually sort of looking forward to school, cos I feel really bored and end up slacking at home. As a result, there is no sense of accomplishment or satisfaction whatsoever and I end up killing time by eating eating eating and scavaging for food. I'm home alone now, and it's terrible. Even Trixie's out having piano lesson. But I've had a fun-filled week, plus having a flu gives me more reason to stay at home to rest.

    Déjà vu
The BBQ had 卓老师's house was really enjoyable! Interacting with the whole class made me feel so nostalgic. It's this indescribable feeling of warmth that overwhelms me whenever we gather as a class. Though I was not close to everyone, just sitting together, watching movies, and chatting was extremely relaxing. We spent an hour plus watching the movie "Déjà vu". Interesting, I must say, though it was a tad too confusing. And the atmosphere was so tense you could feel the stuff-iness as everyone was holding their breaths.

How I wish we could just go back to one day of school in Sec 4 --- Ms Khoo frothing at our work, Mr Tan talking bout his first love Physics, Ms Tan describing her experiences in track, Mr Lim cracking the lame-est jokes and 卓老师 psyching us for the much feared O-levels. But I guess they're all memories kept in the corner of my mind that will occasionally resurface....Just hope we'll have more regular gatherings =]
卓老师 is so kind to open up her place for a BBQ, and not forgetting her lovely pasta and other dishes =] 谢谢卓老师!We spent most of the time watching e movie, eating and eating and eating. Then digesting by showcasing our fac dances =] I'm so gonna learn the Artemis fac dance! It's just a matter of time, oh wells.
    I really miss 401'08.

    GCs.
Went to school again, this time for math extra lesson....and we ended up doing a test, which was, in my opinion, harder than the lecture test. While Mr Loo was going thru the answers, I was glued to Yujie's blackjack application in his GC. Uber impressed by his programming skills. Although they were put to, well, erm, not-so-professional use when he crafted this 'Wild percentage' programme. Haha. That kept us laughing during the rest of math. Amusing. We were dismissed early and 74 spent half an hour deciding where to go for lunch. In the end, we went to Coro and packed the stairs beside Golden Rooster. It was, well, sort of uncomfortable to receive disapproving glances from passers-by. But we had a great time! A few seniors namely Weisin, Eugene, Jia Jun and Celia joined in minutes later =] Ended up camwhoring though, which was really weird haha.

Then went back to sch to stone/mug wif Caitong, Ziyan, Cheng Siang, Weisin, Jia Jun and Eugene. Thanks seniors for teaching me bout reciprocal graphs so patiently =] Your guidance is very much appreciated! Left at 3.30pm for 401 BBQ, will blog bout it sometime later =]

    March HOLS :D
So it's the March Holidays finally! Honestly, this is one of the best holidays cos we're not loaded with much homework, except for a few tutorials, which I've more or lessed completed thanks to CT mugging session today! But when I say CT, it only consists of me, Fabian, Cheng Siang, half of Kim Yung, Weisin and Yiran....it was, well, quite a failure in terms of quantity. Mummy was quite pissed that I decided not to stay at home to rest and recover, but I thought going to school was still worthwhile cos it was free from the evil distraction of e computer. And I got most of my work done. Trixie was at a Bio olympiad workshop for the frm 9 to 3pm, so she joined us for lunch at Coro, some Prince place. The food's reasonably gd, but I thot the price was a tad too high...it punched half a hole in my wallet =(. I like the ambience in sch...it's really conducive, despite the fact that there are pple playing frisbee, or rugby, or n'importe quoi sport, not forgetting Interact Club and its bunch of kids. It began to rain and I enjoyed the breeze although I was down wif a sore throat. I was really surprised that Kim Yung joined us halfway, considering that she lives in Malaysia! Finally, a bunch of thanks to Rosalind, who pang-sehed me! Initially it was only Cheng Siang and I in the morning, Fabian came half an hour late. Yongquan appeared occasionally at the bench but he spent most of his time at tossing his frisbee in the rain. This, I reckon, is true passion for his CCA. Thankfully Kim Yung Weisin and Yiran joined us in mugging =]
    I'm really looking forward to BBQ 2mr :D Can't wait to meet 401!!! 401'08 <333

    And we're back!
It's great to get the blog up again, with a fresh new blogskin that I made! Woots! The coding is finally fixed, but I think it'll appear haywire in Firefox or some other browser other than IE. I haven't touched HTML for a long time, long gone were the days of creating blogskins....that was like 3 years ago? Yea.

And the thing is, I've lost all my old links, so I had to painstakingly go blog-hopping to search for links and I realized very few classmates have got blogs. And I think i've missed out blogging on the highlights of college life - that is Orientation REV-IT-UP! and POP :( Maybe Trixie will blog bout it.

Yesterday was a really hectic day, since our class has got the most lessons on friday, well, at least, for the non-tripscience peeps. We had bio lecture on proteins, then GP tutorial which carved a worried frown on my forehead, then highly amusing PW, math lecture and even more amusing chem tutorial.

    I love chem tutorial!
I nvr sleep because there's just too much going on in the class! Moreover, there's always something to giggle about -- either at how our class gets scolded for trivial foolish behaviour or at how some of our highly amusing classmates whisper secrets to one another.I must say I'm starting to like 09S74 A LOT. it doesn't seem as doomed as it was going to be in week one. Although most of us are at diff. frequencies and live on diff. planets and take diff. subject combis, we can still relate to each other somehow =] It's hard to explain....in short, weird but fun. haha.

Holy has got this list on which she records our misdeameanours....and I think she picks on those who've alr got black marks -.- It's pretty obvious. I think I've got a grey mark -- first for lending kim yung and ziyan my chem tut (which she confiscated for nothing) and then for blocking her way when i stretched out my hand to return cheng siang his stapler. Can't help but laugh when I think of how she punished kim yung and ziyan. Cleaning the board.

The thing is, when she screams at pple, it's traumatising. but i find it hard to suppress giggles cos she'll just break out into a smile after that. For example, a few pple came into class slightly late and rushed to their seats.

Holy: "What should you do when you come in late? Shouldn't you enter by the frontdoor and greet the teacher?"
Chin Kiat: "Oh ok"*Gets up and attempts to go to the front door to do the accurate procedure*
Holy: *laughs* "I said next time!"

What was amusing was yet to come. After a few seconds, Jia Hua came in and walked in by the backdoor. Everyone, including Holy, laughed uncontrollably.

    **

Mdm Chen finally blew her top during PW, cos we were far too noisy. But gosh you should look at how quiet we were during e presentations. I think our group did a pretty gd job, considering that it was done in one night. We presented on Tyra Banks as a groundbreaker, a ground-breaker, literally. Everyone was either sleeping/stoning though, and Michelle and I had fun tying french braids. It was quite a frenzy helping Michelle tie hers as she experimented with an inverted braid which was kind of. erm. adventurous. It was great fun though. I guess I can join the french-braid club which currently consists of Michelle and Kimyung. We've got a bimbo club too: Rosalind and Michelle. Then the pong-hair club: Michelle, Rosalind, Yi Sheng and Chin Kiat, maybe Jiahua?? Then there's the caitong gang: Caitong, Ziyan, Kimyung. And lastly the Wild Men (?!!) club: YuJie, Yong quan. lol. Oh yups and the oh-ba-sang (auntie) club: Michelle, Ziyan and me. haha. That makes Michelle a pong-hair french braid bimbo auntie. lol.

CT session was short and slack, yay! Then we all proceeded to the canteen for some bonding time wif Mr Heng, who kindly treated all of us to drinks. Mr Yao came back during CT session and apparently, he went home to style and wax his hair halfway during bio lecture in the morning. (!!???) His returned with his hair 5 centimetres taller. gosh.

    ***
After sch, Ann, Cheryl, Larrie, Pat, Yunyi, Hilary, Jin Faye, Bernice, Trix and I went back to Nanyang to visit our dear juniors at the roof-top hall. The SYF dance is really abstract and the concept is really interesting. And I must say the juniors are doing really well, especially the sec fours who are so responsible and serious. The CNY self-choreo, and adaptation to such a huge change of style are evidence of how they've matured, and juniors, we're really proud of you!

I'm really missing the atmosphere of NYMD during HFOS and Mulan...how I wish I can experience those times again! But now they're just memories that I can only cling on to dearly...At least, our batchmates are still close to one another, and I still sense that warm feeling whenever we see each other =]

Please send me your last pair of shoes, worn out with dancing as you mentioned in your letter, so that I might have something to press against my heart. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Whee thanks theresa for changing our blogskin! Term 1 alr flew by so quickly... I was too caught up with school to even bother to update this blog. Orientation, lectures, tutorials (bleagh), cca, outing and hey, OG23-ers were really friendly =D.

    OG 22!

I'm really beginning to like our class =). Initially I really missed my OG loads because I didn't know anyone in my ct at all (except theresa). And it seemed like we vibrated on diff. frequencies ( i think we still do) since we were a ct with a really unique mix of subject combi and personalities. But now I love my ct and i still miss my OG =)
