Yeah, I'm going to do a real giant post on the entire trip. So we met at Changi International Airport for the midnight flight. Mum and Dad and Terry were already in Turkey so our Aunt brought us there :) I couldn't contain my excitement! The plane was horrible...13 hours. the last 4 hours were gruelling cos the food sucked and i got nauseous. The movies were the same as the return flight from NZ cos it's still NOV, so well I watched Hors d'Prix which I've always wanted to watch :D sat with trixie and lihong. when we reached Charles de Gaulle in Paris, the workers were on strike so no one turned up for work at the airport. Only a lonely police officer was standing in the middle of the airport directing us. So there was no train no nothing. ohyarh my luggage's wheel was terribly stuck, so i pulled the luggage like crazy. then everyone decided to walk only i took the travellator so i was stuck behind a group of real tall guys. they were like quite intimidating, luckily mlle cheo followed me :D we ate a chocolatine from Paul's. Paul's is a very gd patisserie! i was dehydrated. not allowed to bring water bottles onto the plane, and the water cost like 1.50euros per bottle, which was S$3!! And the devastating news was it was already like 10.15am when we boarded the bus to go to another train station and our train was at 10.30am. The bus was late by 10 mins, and we had to fork out 12 Euros cos of the strike. xin1 tong4. we slept on the bus and our next train was at 2pm, so we went to a mini fast food restaurant, ate a 2.50euros hotdog (which was the cheapest unfortunately) and I bought a copy of Glamour magazine. There was a cute journal :D It was 1.80 euros, which was the cheapest too :D we sat down and just chatted. And I wanted to go to the toilet which cost 0.50euros, lian ce suo ye bu fang guo! hahax. but this is a once in a lifetime authentic french experience, getting delayed because of a strike :D finally we could board the train and I dragged by luggage with all my might again. our train carriage was like so far away, I wanted to give up. Thanks to Mabel who helped me drag my luggage too :D I sat with Trixie and slept a bit. Went to the bar and played cards with some others :) bought an orangina.we played asshole taiti and bridge. the train ride was 3 hours and we were totaly exhausted when we reached Gare St-Jean and Bordeaux. our host families picked us up and I was so excited to see Laure and Audrey :D Laure's mother looked fierce but she was realy nice to help me drag my lugage to the car. It was real windy. Her dad was driving and they were really humorous on the way :D Her mum said "I can speak a little english" then her dad just made funny noises in the english accent, haha. So we reached her house, this little cute house with a chimney surrounded by shop houses and opposite is a grocery. Saw her little sister, real cute :D then they showed me around the house, got be bedroom slippers. I was so thrilled to see that my room was so cosy! and then Laure showed me her cat Grisou. haha he's real cute, black :D and then she said he might sleep with me, gdness. the second floor was already the attic and it's where all the children slept. it was warm and real well furnished. there was a garden but it was dark already. We ate noodles in soup and had pomegranate. i went to bathe. the bathroom was big but the shower cabin was totally mini.but nevertheless it's real cosy :D there was a WC beside the bathrm. i went to sleep. 19th Dec So i woke up and laure was already at the sofa. i washed up and then went to the kitchen to scavage for food. laure showed me how to make hot chocolate. i stupidly asked where was the thermos flask for hot water she said they don't have hot water. they heat water up in the microwave! so i poured milk in a bowl, put it in the microwave, then added chocolate powder. ate bread and biscuit and the cat ate with me :D we were watching some drole de reveil which was a morning show on tv. we crossed the road and reached the bus stop. the school was really near. lycee magendie is quite small but really modern. we went to the library and laure showed me around the school, then I was left with the rest. we were supposed to tour the school with pige but arnaud and brandon and me had to leave for class. laure was with her bf, so she was late for class. we had "Sciences de la vie et de la terre" which was life and earth sciences. it was a combination of geography, biology, geology, etc. it was a 2 hour lesson so i was bored to death. the only fun part was counting the flies on the plate. haha. but it was real chim, the phenotype genotype thingies cos they are 2 years older than us. then we had physics. newton's law, i could understand but the cursive handwriting was real hard to decipher so the symbols looked screwed to me. then we went for lunch. ate with brandon leon jamie and aaron.i think. it was macaroni with pork with chocolate cream with banana. i like the canteen system.but the queue was real long. we saw pple playing football but it was freezing outside, then played cards in the library. made too much noise, very paiseh so we walked out. we had FLE (french lesson) and we received a map of bordeaux, talked about what we ate last night and learnt some french. then we went to see their art class. it looked very much like aep but the people looked really arty-farty. we saw this punk with black and pink hair, real cool. their sketchbooks were wonderful, great illustrations, we saw a funkily graffitied wall. then we had reception in the evening, and we tried macarons!! macarons rock, they are small colourful pastries. we had some other refreshments and I went home with Laure. I was France's Top Model with Lucile (Laure's sister). then saw her brother (Jeremie) he was playing playstation with his friend in a room. Her mum came and told Lucile not to watch Top Model because it's too mature blah blah but she said I liked it which was true so yeah, we were both happy and we continued watching :) then we watched MTV. i watched top model and MTV nearly everyday. and then it was the best dinner ever! arclettes! my fav french food! it was potatoes with meat (ham, pork, and another type) the meat was raw and real salty, but it went well with the potatoes and melted cheese. we put the cheese in a small little pan and put it into this stemboat like machine to let it melt. wow, real yummy. everybody except the father and I peeled the skin. after bathing her sis came to talk to me and then we continued talking and playing every night :D laure came in for a short while and i gave them presents then they were so happy :D it's real gd to see them happy :D
oh no i've only blogged 2 days, never mind, will continue somehow :)
